Partnering in a secondary mathematics classroom

Partnering in a secondary mathematics classroom

Set up of classroom:
If the lesson was an individual project, I would most likely utilize the horseshoe method to facilitate conversation between teacher and students.
If the students were paired in groups, because they had similar interest or learning styles, I would utilize grouping of desk, so that students could still see the instructor and front of room if needed, but be able to converse face to face and work together side by side, or across from each other.

Level of partnering:
I would hope to have an advanced level of partnering in the classroom. I do believe that secondary students are capable of developing or enhancing learning tools or lessons, and definitely can work to help each other with their understanding of the topic. They could teach individual lessons, critique my lessons and others, decide on what ways we will approach certain problems and scenarios.

Integration of technology:
They can pair up with technology to research ways of applying their skill set and work with different tools (calculators, simulations, measuring devices, etc.) to help diversify their abilities and experiences.

List 3 guided questions:
If there was something in this world that you would change, what would it be and how would you proceed to bring about this change?
Do you feel you have a voice and is it heard? Why or why not are you being listened to?
If you could design, build, or create anything in the world, what would it be, and why do you have interest in this?
